What famous people started their career later in life?
Q. I would like some examples of people who are famous and work in the entertainment business that worked later in life, probably 28 and over. Most of the time, when I read famous people's biographies, they always start training from an early age (before 14), or know what they want to be from a really early age (as children). Are there any celebrities who didn't know what they wanted to be at first until later in life and/or trained later? Thanks, I could use some inspiration.

A. Cillian Murphy. He is an awesome actor. He didn't start at around 28, more like 21. He went to college originally to become a lawyer and he realized that wasn't his real passion. He accidentally came upon an acting troupe and just auditioned for the heck of it. He's one of those pure talent guys who had no training. I mean i guess if you look deep enough he probably did some plays in high school but who hasn't these days. I wouldn't call that professional training exactly. Hope this helped.

Why is Giacomo Puccini famous and what work is he most famous for?
Q. I have to do an italian project on Puccini. I looked up some info on him and apparently he was an opera composer. I have to answer in italian in 2 sentences why he is famous. I was going to say he was most famous for " o mio babbino caro" from gianni schichi. Is that his most well known pece? I only have to choose one work. Is there another that is better?
Asked by Senior2010 - Wed Jan 7 21:01:29 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You've chosen a very famous aria, but the opera it is from is relatively obscure. If you're supposed to say which opera he is most famous for, that will be either La Boheme or Madame Butterfly (with Tosca perhaps in third place).

A. "Stopping by woods on a snowy evening" By Robert Frost: Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. --- read it slowly and clearly.

Where can I find pictures of famous places by day and by night?
Q. I'm looking for something very specific--pictures of famous places around the world, with identical shots by day and by night. For example, a picture of the Empire State Building or Golden Gate Bridge during the day and an identical shot at night using the same angles. Any famous places will do, as long as the pictures are the same angle and distance. Are there any websites you can point me to that has this kind of stuff? Thanks a bunch.

What is the most famous Broadway musical?
Q. I'm in the middle of a debate over what the most famous Broadway musical is. I keep saying that it is Phantom of the Opera, but my cousin keeps saying that it is Les Miserables. I know that Wicked and Cats are really popular as well, and so is Grease (Or is that even on Broadway?). Any and all help is appreciated on the answer to this question.

A. Phantom of the Opera currently holds the title of the longest running show in Broadway history...(surpassing Cats by quite a bit). However... Les Miserables currently holds the title of the longest running show in the West End. That production has been open longer than Phantom has been. Both were written within a year of each other... both have had international productions. Both were multiple Tony Winners. I don't think it's really an issue that has an absolute answer. (But for sure it's not Cats)
